Quotes What a great place! I stayed in the Mayan Suite, which was great, but didn't realize that I could rent a tent, already set up, with linens and an inflatable mattress! Definitely would have done that. The outdoor shower and bathroom is excellent, but most of all, the hosts are amazing. Wonderful just to sit around and shoot the breeze. A perfect, relaxing little place in a real Mexican town that you would otherwise drive right through. Highly recommended! Quotes

Awesome place in a town you might never stay in otherwise!

Quotes I stayed at this retreat with my boyfriend. It is located right by a bus line that goes from Merida to Cancun. It was awesome and very cheap to travel between the two cities. Also you can get to many of the ruins by bus. The suite we had was also very nice and the grounds were beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone looking for visit this part of Mexico, on a budget. I will go back someday! Quotes

Quotes We had a wonderful stay with you. The attendant, Daniel, was awesome. He provided great information and kept the camp wonderful. We look forward to seeing the new hut he is building when we return. The cenote is only 2 minutes away by car, 10 minute walk. It was beautiful and we were the only visitors. A private paradise for a great relaxing vacation. Only an hour and a half from Merida. Thanks for a wonderful trip. Quotes

Quotes There are few places in the world that are perfect in every way. I have spent nearly four years travelling the world at different times and found at Yucatan Mayan Retreat a feeling of peace that is rare in our busy world. I stayed at first two nights to see the sites of Chichen Itza and then later came back for a four night stay to relax. Jorge is an amazing host/owner that will make your trip memorable. I recommend taking a swim in the cenote after which the town is named, walking around the village, visiting with the resident animals- turtles, birds, a rabbit and more animals around! And lounging in a hammock with a good book as much as possible. Paradise awaits! Quotes
Relax in a small peaceful village!

Quotes We stayed at the Yucatan Mayan retreat in March, 2010 while visiting Chichen Itza, and had a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Mayan House, which had a double bed and a double futon, fridge, coffee maker and A/C. The room was clean and very comfortable. Jorge, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful with sightseeing recommendations. It's about a 10 minute walk from Yokzonodt Cenote, an amazing cenote that you can swim in. When we went, we were the only visitors there. The town of Yokzonodt itself is a tiny Mayan village with a small food store, and two food stands, one labeled "Pepsi," and one labeled "Coke." The Mayan Yucatan Retreat has the free-standing Mayan house, a Mayan suite with attached bath, and several tents. The outdoor bathroom is beautiful, clean, and really cool (there's a tree growing next to the shower). There is also a shared kitchen for preparing meals if you want. It is incredibly peaceful, with no traffic noise and only jungle sounds at night! Quotes
Peaceful, one-of-a-kind acommodations near Chichen

Quotes We went to the Yucatan Mayan Retrest for my husbands birthday. We planned to visit Chichen Itza. We own a casa in Chelem, Yucatan and we needed to get away from all the renovations. What a great choice, They were awesome hosts!. I wasn't quite ready to camp so we stayed in their suite, it was so relaxing and comfortable. We just loved the rest of the property, especially the outdoor bathroom. Very well done! We would recommend the Mayan Retreat to anyone who is looking for something different. Quotes
Wow! What a fun place!

Quotes It was a great experience spending a night out there, and our host, Daniel, was nice and helpful. The place is a small compound located down a little village road. We stayed in the Mayan Deluxe House, which was comfortable and plenty of space for two people. Outside, there is a little pool, with lounging chairs and a hammock. Lying in the hammock in the Yucatecan jungle, listening to the birds in the evening, really let us know we were not in Brooklyn anymore. I felt very lucky to be there. I'm not a camper, so for me, an ecohotel is probably as close to nature as I'm going to get. I definitely picked up some mosquito bites, but we were very happy with our stay there. Unfortunately, we arrived later than expected and didn't have time to visit the cenote! Being off the beaten track is what makes it wonderful. But if you're going to Chichen Itza the bus comes once or twice an hour, so plan some waiting time. Quotes
It felt like a privilege to be there!

Quotes Travelling across Mexico we found the Ecohotel accidentally and it was bull's eye. It's very peaceful, neat and tastefully arranged hotel, located in close proximity to Chichen Itza and Cenote. The host is a very nice young man, who introduced us to the Mayan village residents, he showed us their daily living. You can meet interesting people, who stay here. We recommend the Ecohotel for everyone who want to rest from the city living. Greetings for Jorge Yanez from Barbara and Leopold. Quotes

Quotes My husband and I love to backpack in foreign countries and sometimes you just never know what you are going to get for accomodations. But the Yucatan Mayan Retreat was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Located a few minutes from the touristy Piste & Chichen Itza, the Retreat is located in a small pueblo that truely is authentically Mexico. The retreat's is intimate with a perfect outdoor bath house, common kitchen area, hammocks and lots of shady trees. We stayed in one of the tents and it was excellent. Clean, roomy and the airmatress provided us with the best night sleep of our trip. The owner Jorge was wonderful and made sure we always had everything we needed. We loved sitting around and chatting with the other guests who like us were world travellers looking to discover the heart of the country versus sitting in a resort in cancun. This is not a 5 star resort. This is a 5 star guesthouse. Not to be confused! Within a 5 mins walk from the retreat was a beautiful ceno Quotes
Hands down the best place we stayed while travelling in Mexico!!
